Until 30 June 2023, all ongoing students as well as new student arrivals and secondary applicants are able to work without limitation to their hours in any sector of the economy. They are also able to work before their course of study commences.
After the 30 June 2023, the number of hours a student visa holder will be allowed to work will again be capped to 40 hours per fortnight. This will impact the earning ability for workers on a student visa. It may also disrupt your business, if you are currently employing a student visa holder and the student has been working more than 20 hours per week.
Our migration expert can advise student visa holders and their employers, to prevent unnecessary disruptions to lives and businesses.
